needed practice in phonetically based early reading

activities include:
· Circle the words matching the pictures
· Group the words according to the vowel
sounds
· Colour or join the word families
· Form words by joining initial, middle or
final sounds
· Join simple sentences with the matching
pictures
· Finishing sentences with suitable words
The worksheets
do not require writing so that the task could be performed with undivided
attention to visual discrimination, recall and comprehension of printed
words. Writing could distract the young reader from decoding the print
accurately.
