Beginning readers are often insensitive to spelling patterns, but with well constructed reading practice the readers will acquire the feel for the letter-sound patterns that parallel spelling patterns. Learning to spell and read is successful if the activities are interesting and motivating and the content is meaningful.
Words are matched to pictures that give a real meaning to the word. The two images - the word and the picture are linked and stored in the memory. The link makes it possible to look at the word and recall the picture or look at the picture and recall the word. The picture strengthens the image and assists the automatic rapid recall of the word.
The activities in this work book do not require writing, as the answers are expressed by the LUK tiles.
